Safe Drive Technology

The functions of safe drives are defined in EN 61800-5-2. In addition, it is important to implement the listed functions in a practical manner. For this purpose, it is necessary to specify suitable parameter sets in order to achieve maximum availability of the drive solutions. Of course, it is also possible to specify and implement application-specific safety functions.

In the case of speed or position-dependent safety functions, the properties of the encoder systems used, such as resolvers, sine/cosine encoders or digital encoder systems, are of great importance in terms of safety.
